Kiwanis Music Festival Results

Congratulations to the Bur Oak Music Program on an amazing Kiwanis Music Festival this year.

On Thursday, February 19th our Grade 9 Concert Band and Grade 11-12 Senior Wind Ensemble under the direction of Mr. Stokes performed at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto. The Grade 9 Concert Band received a Platinum Award and a 1st Place with a mark of 96. Later that afternoon, the Grade 11-12 Senior Wind Ensemble, again under the direction of Mr. Stokes also received a Platinum Award and a 1st Place with a mark of 97.

The next day, the Grade 10 Symphonic Band under the direction of Mr. Yeung performed and received a Platinum Award, a 1st Place, and a mark of 92.

To conclude Bur Oak's Kiwanis classes, the Bur Oak Massed Choir under the direction of Ms. Lee also received a Platinum Award and another 1st Place with a mark of 96.

Thank you to the 316 Repertoire students who participated in the festival and congratulations to all involved for reperesteting the school so well at this year's Kiwanis Festival.
